Watch a Tesla Model S Get Shredded by the Jaws of Life

Wired -- There’s only one way to show first responders how to get occupants out of a Tesla Model S, and that’s ripping one apart.

The car’s electric drivetrain and massive battery pack means there’s more involved than grabbing a Sawzall and going to town. So Tesla put out a training video for fire crews and police showing how to safely dismantle the all-electric sedan. It’s a combination of pure engineering porn and gut-wrenching destruction.

If the Model S is your dream car, be prepared. The video above is not for the squeamish.

>> How much will this slow down a first responder if they have to worry about getting electrocuted?

About the same as first responders that have to worry about leaking gasoline exploding

If only we could do a similar job to Obama's un-"sustainable energy" policy.

The gravy train for tax-subsidized "green energy," tax-rebates for overly-expensive "green cars," government-guaranteed loans, "renewable energy" surcharges on utility rates, is sure to go on.

Check out:

Did they mail this training video to every fire department and police department in America ?? Or just to the ones in the rich suburbs where they are more likely to encounter a Tesla vehicle ??

Doesn't matter what the car is. If you are trapped you will accept what ever it takes to get out.

Watch a Tesla Model S Get Shredded by the Jaws of Life, a video for first responders! How to safely get someone out of the car without getting fried yourself. Watch for the battery, the electric motor wiring and other components!!!
Tesla Model S? In This Economy and the severe lack of Jobs? I will drive my vehicle into the ground before buying anything new, used, EV, Inbred, Plug In, diesel, hydrogen, alternative fuel, CNG, concept and certainly NOT a GM, Ford, Chrysler, Fiat, Prius, 'Tesla,' Leaf, Volt, Peugeot or an NYC/Hurricane Sandy Special 'exploding submarine' Fiskar Karma Inbred!
Drive vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money.
The price of fuel at the pump is too high!

Big deal - just install emergency breakers so first responders can isolate the power source.
