For my insurance, it seems that I can lend it to anyone except the one living in my house unless they are explicitely on the policy.

Most policies allow for an occasional driver other than the insured. But if there's an accident and they investigate and find this person has been driving the car on a regular basis, they'll likely refuse the claim. Check with your agent before lending your car for an extended period.

It may depend on the particular insurance company, but must allow you to lend a car to someone else if they have a license. If they drive a commercial bus or truck, then they have to have a CDL license for that vehicle. There are different indorsements on the CDL licenses, for instance if you drive a bus then you have to have a Class P indorsement and a CDL B license or an A.

I would check with your agent; I know my policy has coverage for others... it would be considered an occasional driver.
